Software Register

We build practical software that runs a business, not concepts on a slide.

Sierra Joe is a South African software development company. We design and build operational systems — the software people actually log into every day to move parcels, take bookings, run a store, manage members, track payments and support customers.

Some of our systems are WordPress and WooCommerce products; others are standalone web applications or desktop tools. WordPress is a delivery technology we use where it fits — it is not the boundary of what we do. The through-line is a portfolio of working business systems, several of them deployed and in daily use.

This register exists because that portfolio has commercial value beyond the projects it was originally built for. Each asset below can be taken to market in more than one way — and we are actively looking for the clients, resellers and partners to do it with.

The Sierra Joe Software Register

Each asset is described by the problem it solves and the ways it can generate revenue — not by its feature list. Open an entry for the full commercial dossier.

Nexus Flow MDS

One place to run the back office of a small business, support tickets, knowledge base, inventory, uptime monitors, meetings, cameras, a utilities and finance ledger and file sharing.

The problem

Small businesses stitch together a helpdesk tool, a spreadsheet for stock, a separate monitoring service, a notes app and a shared drive. Nothing talks to each other, every tool is another subscription, and sensitive data is scattered across other people’s clouds.

The solution

A single operations dashboard delivered two ways: as a WordPress plugin that takes over the full screen, or as a standalone appliance (a Docker container on a mini-PC) that runs entirely on the customer’s own network with no dependency on internet access. The standalone edition ships with an unattended installer image and a built-in, offline licence system.

Key capabilities

  • Helpdesk tickets, knowledge base and file sharing
  • Inventory, stock and a launcher for internal tools
  • Uptime monitors and IP-camera live view
  • Meetings with agendas and rich notes
  • Utilities & finance tracking, with Sage CSV import
  • Per-module licensing, trial and grace periods, enforced server-side

Ideal for

Workshops, trades, clinics, depots and franchises that want their own operations hub — and IT-support companies who could roll it out across their whole client base as a managed, branded product.

Business value

Replaces three or four monthly subscriptions with one system the business owns. The standalone edition keeps all data on-site — a real selling point for anyone wary of cloud tools. A module-based licence model already exists in code, so recurring revenue does not need to be invented.

Commercial opportunities

SaaS / hosted | Per-module licensing | White-label | Appliance + support | MSP reseller | Custom modules

Status. The WordPress edition is mature and commercial-ready. The standalone edition is deployed in production and carries a complete commercial licence system (signed per-module keys, automated issuing through WooCommerce, revocation and phone-home checks); it is pre-1.0 and still being hardened, but the monetisation plumbing is already built. An earlier iteration, Nexus Workspace, is part of the same lineage.

Keystone Lucent

Modular organisation-management platform for WordPress. One platform, many modules, one licence. Core provides the framework — identity, ledger, credentials, licensing, dashboard, settings, reporting, print, notifications, audit — and optional modules provide business functionality (commerce, payments, membership, feedback, events, …).

The problem

A membership plugin here, a payment tracker there, a spreadsheet for staff leave, a separate form for event sign-ups. The same parent is a row in four systems, spelled four ways.

The solution

  • One People directory every module writes to
  • One ledger — memberships, shop orders and instalments all post to it
  • One branded front-end for staff, no wp-admin
  • Members carry a QR card the door can verify offline
  • Debit-order batches built for you, returns reconciled on upload
  • Turn a module off and its data stays put

Result: one record per person, one place to look.

SaaS / hosted | Per-module licensing | White-label | Appliance + support | MSP reseller | Custom modules

An earlier iteration, Nexus Workspace, is part of the same lineage.

Parcel Information Center

A central system for tracking parcels across customers, couriers, and shipments, with staff dashboards, public tracking, a booking flow, courier portals, and printable waybills.

The problem

Parcel operations get complicated fast. A dispatch business juggles multiple couriers, each with their own reference numbers and portals; customers phone in for status updates; spreadsheets go stale; and there is no single record of where anything is or what was promised.

The solution

One platform that ingests parcel data from CSV files or courier APIs, gives staff a role-based dashboard, and lets recipients track a parcel publicly by any of its reference numbers. A separate booking module turns a paid collection request into a trackable parcel. The architecture is multi-tenant — one platform operator can host many logistics providers, each with isolated data and its own branding.

Key capabilities

  • CSV import with flexible column matching, plus live courier-API sync
  • Built-in integrations for iBundle, Namlog and The Delivery Group
  • Full status timeline kept per parcel, shown on public tracking
  • Booking & quoting flow with a weight / size / zone pricing matrix
  • Courier partner portal — delivery queue, proof of delivery, exceptions
  • Recipient self-service portal and printable barcoded waybills

Ideal for

Courier companies, third-party logistics and fulfilment operators, mailroom and distribution businesses, and e-commerce sellers running their own last-mile delivery.

Business value

Cuts “where is my parcel” phone calls, gives operators one operational picture across every courier they use, and produces a defensible record of every status change. For a platform operator, the multi-tenant design is a ready-made subscription business.

Commercial opportunities

SaaS / multi-tenant | White-label for couriers | Licensing | Custom courier integrations | Implementation & onboarding | Hosting

Status. In active development and demonstrated to a client. The multi-tenant restructure, courier portals and recipient portal are built; the tracking module is the most mature part. Deployable now with onboarding; the strongest single candidate for a white-label or partner-led logistics product.

CommercePilot

A front-end dashboard that lets store managers runa Woocommerce shop with sales reporting, order, customers, payments, and full product management, without ever touching the WordPress admin.

The problem

WooCommerce’s own admin is built for developers, not shop staff. Owners either hand out full admin logins — a security and support risk — or become the bottleneck for every price change and stock update.

The solution

A single shortcode renders a complete management console on the front end: KPIs, revenue and order-trend charts, a searchable recent-orders list with an order-detail view, top products, an accounting-ready CSV export, and full product creation and editing — including variable products and categories. Access is capability-gated, so staff see the console and nothing else.

Key capabilities

  • Revenue, order, customer and payment-method breakdowns
  • Recent orders with customer search and a read-only detail view
  • Create and edit any product type, and add categories, from the front end
  • Accounting-tailored CSV export (UTF-8 with BOM for Excel)
  • Front-end user management and one-setting accent-colour branding
  • Feature-module toggles and performance-hardened for large order histories

Ideal for

WooCommerce store owners with non-technical staff, and the agencies and freelancers who build and maintain WooCommerce stores for clients.

Business value

Store staff get a fast, safe workspace; owners stop being the bottleneck and stop handing out admin logins. For an agency, it is an instant “client dashboard” that makes every WooCommerce build look finished.

Commercial opportunities

Per-site licensing | Agency white-label | Reseller bundle | Managed add-on (hosted) | Custom implementation

Status. Commercial-ready. Running on a live store, with a long release history and specific work done to keep it fast on years of order data. Self-contained and quick to demo.

GreenLight

Replaces paper tour and event registration and indemnity forms with an online workflow that produces a legally compliant signed PDF record for every party.

The problem

Schools and event organisers still run registrations on printed forms: parents fill them in by hand, someone re-keys the data, indemnity signatures live in a filing cabinet, and reconciling who has paid is a manual chase.

The solution

Parents register online, complete every required field, accept the indemnity electronically, and submit. The system generates a compliant PDF record automatically and distributes it to all parties, keeps an immutable audit log, and gives staff a dashboard to search, filter and export registrations. Payment can flow through WooCommerce.

Key capabilities

  • Online registration and indemnity with click-to-accept signature
  • Automatic compliant PDF, generated with no external dependencies
  • Per-event email routing and stored, non-drifting reference numbers
  • Role-gated staff dashboard, CSV export, immutable audit log
  • South African ECT Act and POPIA considerations built in
  • Optional WooCommerce payment integration

Ideal for

Schools and school sports departments, tour operators, camps and youth organisations, and sports clubs — anyone who currently collects signed consent on paper.

Business value

Removes re-keying and the paper filing cabinet, makes consent records defensible, and links registration to payment. The originating school has asked to extend it from tours to school events generally — a clear signal of demand.

Commercial opportunities

Licensing per school | SaaS for school groups | Education-reseller white-label | Adapt for clubs / camps / events | Implementation

Status. Commercial-ready for its niche. Live in production at a school and renamed from TRIS after real-world use. The earlier TRIS releases are the same product’s history, not a separate asset.

Medical Manager

A patient-facing booking system with a live practive agenda, a public queue with a realtime overrun adjustment, and a QR code for every appointment.

The problem

Small practices run bookings by phone and paper diary. Patients cannot see availability, the waiting room has no idea how far behind the day is running, and payment is a separate step that often does not happen.

The solution

Patients register (with staff approval), pick a 15-minute slot, and pay through WooCommerce — the slot is held during checkout and released automatically if payment lapses. Staff get a live agenda with status controls; a public calendar shows only free-or-taken, never patient details; and a real-time progress indicator recalculates expected times as consultations overrun.

Key capabilities

  • Configurable slot length, price, opening days and hours
  • Payment-hold window with automatic slot release
  • QR code per booking, shown on the patient profile
  • Live staff agenda: Booked / In Process / Completed / Overrun
  • Public queue with overrun-aware estimated times
  • Blocked dates and password-protected encrypted backup / restore

Ideal for

Solo doctors and small practices first — and, with light adaptation, any appointment-based service: physiotherapy, dentistry, dietetics, veterinary, salons, government service desks.

Business value

Fewer no-shows and phone bookings, payment captured up front, and a waiting room that can see the queue. The booking-and-queue engine is a strong foundation for a broader appointments product.

Commercial opportunities

Licensing per practice | SaaS for practice groups | Medical-software white-label | Adapt to other appointment businesses | Custom development base

Status. Deployable for a single practice now. Sales and product material (pitch, brochure, white paper) has already been drafted. A multi-tenant layer is the main work needed for a SaaS offering.

Community Guardian

Crime reporting with map heat-layers, gated area and road-closure surveys, and recurring homeowner memberships across multiple suburbs, from one install.

The problem

Residents’ associations and neighbourhood watches coordinate on WhatsApp groups and paper forms. Incident data is never aggregated, closure applications need structured cost and security information that is hard to collect, and membership dues are chased by hand.

The solution

A multi-suburb platform with three linked parts: a public crime-report form feeding a colour-coded map and incident log with a moderation queue; a gated-area survey and closure-support workflow with progress indicators and map overlays; and a commerce layer that assigns a homeowner membership on subscription and applies member discounts.

Key capabilities

  • Crime submission, geocoding and an interactive incident heatmap
  • Structured gated-area / closure surveys with full cost and security data
  • Multi-suburb architecture — one install serves many communities
  • Homeowner and manager roles with a moderation dashboard
  • Recurring memberships via WooCommerce subscriptions, with auto role assignment
  • An existing associated brand identity (“Streetsafe”) and financial model

Ideal for

Residents’ associations, neighbourhood watches, City Improvement Districts and estate management — and security or armed-response companies that already hold those community relationships.

Business value

Turns scattered community coordination into structured data and a billable membership base. For a security company, it is a branded engagement and revenue tool with the customer relationships already in place.

Commercial opportunities

SaaS for associations / CIDs | Security-company partner | White-label Licensing | Municipal deployment | Custom build base

Status. Platform / foundation. A complete first release with real branding and a financial model behind it; the payment-gateway piece is a documented stub to be finished, and the product needs a defined go-to-market. Best pursued with a partner who brings the communities.

Garsie Deli Menu

An app-like ordering menu for Woocommerce, with category tabs, search, quantity steppers, an options picker, and slide-in cart – built for ordering on a phone.

The problem

A default WooCommerce shop page is a poor fit for a food menu ordered on a phone in a hurry — too many taps, page reloads between every action, and no sense of “menu”.

The solution

A single shortcode renders a card-based menu that reads its categories and products straight from WooCommerce. Everything — add to cart, choose options for variable products, adjust quantities — happens over AJAX with no page reloads, in a layout designed mobile-first with a bottom-sheet cart.

Key capabilities

  • Category tabs and in-tab search, built from live WooCommerce data
  • “Choose options” modal for variable products with live price / stock
  • Slide-in (desktop) / bottom-sheet (mobile) cart, kept in sync with the theme header
  • Sold-out handling, an editable notice banner and one-setting accent colour
  • Straight hand-off to WooCommerce checkout

Ideal for

School tuck shops and cafeterias, small cafés and delis, canteens, farm stalls — any small food outlet already on WooCommerce that wants an ordering experience that feels like an app.

Business value

Faster ordering means more completed orders. It is a low-cost way to give a small outlet a modern storefront without building or paying for a native app.

Commercial opportunities

White-label “mobile menu” product | Per-site licensing | Custom deployments | Bundle with CommercePilot

Status. Deployable. Built for one client (a school deli) and in production, but with no client-specific logic — generalising it into a stand-alone “mobile ordering menu for WooCommerce” is a small step.

Payment Tracker

Tracks partial and instalment payments across many WooCommerce orders per customer per product, with a running-total dashboard in the customer’s account

The problem

When a customer pays off a tour, a layby or a big-ticket item over several months and several orders, WooCommerce has no concept of the total. Neither the customer nor the business can see how much is paid and how much is left without adding it up by hand.

The solution

Enable tracking on a product, and every completed or processing order for it is recorded against the customer and grouped under one plan — even across separate orders placed months apart. The customer sees a clean dashboard in My Account: total cost, paid to date, outstanding balance, a progress bar, payment history and a “make next payment” button. Staff can add offline cash or EFT payments and export everything to CSV.

Key capabilities

  • Groups all variations / instalment orders under one parent product
  • Real-time paid and outstanding totals
  • Customer-facing progress dashboard in My Account
  • Manual entry for offline payments and CSV export for reconciliation
  • Cleans up automatically on refund or cancellation; works with modern WooCommerce order storage

Ideal for

Any WooCommerce merchant selling something paid off over time: tour operators, schools, event organisers, furniture and equipment retailers, membership bodies.

Business value

Customers self-serve their balance instead of emailing to ask; the business gets a single reconciliation view across scattered orders. It pairs naturally with GreenLight for school and tour payments.

Commercial opportunities

WooCommerce add-on licensing | White-label | Bundle with GreenLight | Adapt for layby / deposits / dues

Status. Deployable. Built for a school-tour payment use case, with a clean structured implementation available. Small, well-defined and easy to package.

Smart Membership QR

Generates a digital membership card and QR code for every member, with a branded verification page and downloadable wallet sized cards.

The problem

Clubs and associations print plastic cards, or have none at all. There is no quick way for a gate marshal or shop to check whether a membership is current, and no way to handle family members on one account.

The solution

Every member gets a QR code that resolves to a branded verification page showing name, status, expiry and any additional members. Members download a wallet-size card image; admins can bulk-produce all cards as a ZIP. Status follows an expiry date, with manual force-active and force-blocked overrides. Branding is pulled automatically from the site identity, so it works for any organisation.

Key capabilities

  • Per-member QR token and public verification page
  • Print-ready wallet card (90×55 mm at 300 DPI) and bulk ZIP export
  • Expiry-driven active / inactive status with manual overrides
  • Family / additional members on one card
  • WooCommerce and Paid Memberships Pro activation hooks
  • Branded activation email with the card embedded

Ideal for

Sports and social clubs, associations and co-ops, gyms, churches, and loyalty or supporter programmes.

Business value

Instant, verifiable membership status at the gate or till, no card-printing cost, and renewals tied to payment. Real cards have already been produced and issued to members in production.

Commercial opportunities

Licensing | White-label card system | SaaS for clubs | Custom deployments | Membership-stack bundle

Status. Deployable and deliberately generalised, the code already treats the organisation name, logo and brand colour as configuration. In production for a members’ club.

Feedback Form

A public feedback form plus an aggregated dashboard, with totals, breakdowns, filters, CSV in and out, and a resolve workflow. Reusable for any company without code changes.

The problem

Feedback arrives as email, verbal comments and scattered notes. Nobody can see the pattern — what the common complaints are, what is still open, whether anything is being actioned.

The solution

One shortcode places a structured feedback form (area, type, priority, comments, optional screenshot, hidden diagnostic context); another places a dashboard with counts, breakdowns by category, filters, CSV export and import, inline editing, and a mark-as-resolved toggle. A dedicated “Feedback Manager” role grants dashboard access without full admin rights, and the form fields, categories and recipients are all admin-editable.

Key capabilities

  • Structured public form with optional screenshot upload
  • Aggregated dashboard: totals, category / type / priority breakdowns, filters
  • CSV export and import, inline edit, resolve toggle, per-row delete
  • “Feedback Manager” role for non-admin access
  • Fields, categories, priorities and recipient emails all editable without code

Ideal for

Any business running a website or app that wants organised feedback with a reporting view — and agencies who need a structured feedback channel during client testing and hand-over.

Business value

Turns anecdotal feedback into a report you can act on. Small and self-contained, it is the natural “capture and listen” component to include in every deployment.

Commercial opportunities

Bundled component | White-label | Light licensing | Agency UAT tool

Status. Deployable and actively maintained. Deliberately generalised from an internal testing tool. Best positioned as a supporting component rather than a headline product.

Copycat

A desktop tool for one-way mirroring and true two-way folder synchronisation, with scheduled unattended runs, and managed network-share mounts.

The problem

Keeping folders in sync between a workstation and a NAS, or two locations that both change, usually means hand-written scripts, fragile scheduled tasks, and no safe way to handle a file edited in both places.

The solution

A native desktop app with two job types: one-way mirroring to any number of destinations (with a dry-run preview), and two-way sync of a pair that propagates changes and deletions both ways — and, when the same file changed on both sides, stops and asks rather than silently picking a winner. Jobs run on demand or on a schedule that survives the app being closed. It can also manage fast native mounts for NAS shares itself.

Key capabilities

  • One-way mirror with preview, excludes and optional deletion
  • Two-way sync with an interactive conflict-resolution step
  • Scheduled unattended runs via the system timer
  • Per-run logs and live progress
  • Managed network-share mounts, measured much faster than the desktop default

Ideal for

Linux desktop users, and small studios or offices with NAS-heavy workflows that need reliable, reviewable sync without scripting.

Business value

Reliable backups and sync without bespoke scripts, and a conflict model that will not lose work. It also stands as a natural companion to the Nexus Flow appliance for on-site backup.

Commercial opportunities

Bundle with Nexus Flow appliance | Licensing to Linux / studio users | Managed backup service base | Custom sync deployments

Status. Deployable utility, currently used internally. Installable and tested; not yet packaged for a store. A supporting tool rather than a headline product.

Also in the workshop — Nexus Flow License Manager, the WooCommerce plugin that automates signed licence issuing behind A01; InstaPay WebPay integration for WooCommerce and YITH, a payment-gateway capability rather than a product of its own; and Draftline EA, a from-scratch Windows CAD application replacing a client’s legacy DOS system — currently in discovery, offered as proof of our legacy-replacement capability, not yet as a product.

Don’t Miss Out
